The 8.7 Alpine Sender is a triple-rated rope perfect for ice-climbing and performance mountaineering. The skinny diameter and lightweight combine to make them lovely ropes to handle and climb with perfectly suited to the mountains where it is vitally important to save weight where you can. Though care should be taken to use an appropriate belay device, most common grooved models work well e.g. Petzl Reverso, Black Diamond ATC, DMM Pivot.

It is part of Mammut's overhauled rope range and is  demonstrating its strong eco-credentials, the Alpine Sender Dry is based on the extremely popular Mammut 8.7mm Serenity.

This rope has a top of the range DRY treatment where the core and sheath treated to massively improve durability and prevent water ingress making them an ideal lightweight Alpine rope.
